AirAsia Thailand (FD) is solidifying its position as a premier budget airline connecting Thailand and India by introducing a new route. This route connects Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Ahmedabad in western India.

Operating three times a week (every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday), this strategic route not only facilitates increased Indian tourism to Thailand but also provides seamless connections through AirAsia‘s expansive domestic network. Thai travellers are also presented with an exceptional opportunity to explore Ahmedabad’s captivating architecture and natural wonders.

Discover the allure of Ahmedabad with promotional fares starting at just THB 2,990 for one-way travel. Bookings are open until August 27, 2023, for trips scheduled between October 10, 2023, and March 30, 2024, exclusively via the AirAsia SuperApp.

Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand, emphasized the significance of India as a strategic market, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand noting a substantial influx of Indian tourists – accounting for 6% of all international visitors and ranking India as Thailand’s fourth-largest source of tourists.

“AirAsia is dedicated to expanding its network to encompass major and emerging Indian cities, and Ahmedabad is the newest addition for direct flights from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport,” Klongchaiya stated.

Travelers will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, the iconic symbol of civil disobedience.

“Our new route opens a world of exploration,” Klongchaiya added.

AirAsia Thailand (FD) presently operates eight direct routes between Bangkok and India, including Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Bangalore, Gaya, Lucknow, and the upcoming Ahmedabad route, scheduled to debut on October 10, 2023.
