Situated on Vietnam’s tropical island with white-sand beaches, Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort has completed guestroom and public space renovations. The blend of tropical accents and modern simplicity provides an international touch. With a focus on preserving Phu Quoc’s environment, the resort introduces new sustainability initiatives. Guests can immerse themselves in the charms of Pearl Island while enjoying the pristine surroundings.
A modern-day community hub
The lobby area of Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach has been refreshed with functional décor, focusing on comfort and residential aesthetics. It now serves as an intimate communal hub for guests to mingle or conduct business. The space features custom-made furniture in muted tropical tones, creating a lived-in atmosphere that encourages guests to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a nightcap at the adjacent &More by Sheraton. This new space provides a smartly designed setting for guests to gather, interact with locals, and experience an inviting, warm, and inclusive ambiance.
A specialty coffee concept with light bites by day and a lively bar with creative cocktails after dark, &More promises to be the new focal point of the resort. Here, guests can work from a communal-style hardwood table or sink into a comfortable, mid-century-inspired armchair. A long, dining-height oak table with personal drawers and integrated technology, Sheraton’s Community Table blends comfort and productivity to serve as a gathering point for the local community.
Interiors reflecting Phu Quoc’s natural grace
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc Island has become a sought-after beach destination for Western expats and sun-seeking tourists. Visitors can enjoy activities like diving, kayaking, and exploring the backroads on a motorbike. After a relaxing day on the beach, they can indulge in a soothing massage and savour a delicious fresh seafood dinner.
Sheraton Phu Quoc’s newly refurbished accommodation allows the island’s pristine nature to shine. All ocean-facing rooms, suites, and villas have been upgraded with a clean, soothing colour palette, offering a comforting backdrop for relaxation. Carefully selected unique pieces and furniture instil a sense of peace and belonging, whether in a room or villa. The spaces are filled with natural light during the day, framing sparkling ocean vistas, while parquet floors, cream rugs, and dove-grey walls create a harmonious, modern look. Discreet blackout curtains ensure uninterrupted sleep.
“Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort prides itself on being ahead of the curve, and the reimagined interior spaces reaffirm its position as one of the leading resorts in Vietnam,” says Daniel Muhor, general manager of the hotel.
“Being Marriott International’s most global brand, Sheraton aims to create a community hub that promotes long visits amid contemporary spaces and communal elements. We’re excited to welcome back our regulars and first-time visitors to this beautifully appointed, refreshed beachfront base where they can commune with nature, experience world-class dining, or rebalance with healing spa therapies.”
Leadership in sustainability
Reflecting Sheraton Phu Quoc’s commitment to preserving the environment, glass water bottles for all guest rooms and restaurants are refilled at a local bottling plant that uses deep water wells, enabling the property to remove plastic bottles from its premises. Since the rebrand, the resort has also replaced plastic straws and stirrers with eco-friendly alternatives.
To optimise resources and minimise waste, the resort’s green team monitors electricity and water usage and waste output through Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH), as well as participating in Marriott’s “Serve 360 – doing good in every direction” 2023 campaign to reduce the property’s environmental footprint by embracing the circular economy.
Sheraton Phu Quoc recently initiated a pilot project converting 30 kilograms of daily food waste into fertilizer. It nourishes the resort’s palm trees and organic garden, yielding 1,300 kilograms of fresh vegetables monthly. Cage-free chicken eggs and responsibly-sourced seafood promote humane animal treatment and protect endangered marine species.
