Nang Yai, the traditional Thai art of shadow puppetry, uses intricately crafted leather puppets to bring to life stories from Thai mythology, Buddhist teachings, and epic tales such as the Ramayana. These performances, set against a glowing screen and accompanied by live traditional music, create an atmosphere that is both mesmerising and magical. Every Saturday at 10 am and Sunday at 11 am, visitors can enjoy these dramatic performances, which have been carefully preserved for generations.

But the festival offers more than just watching—it’s an interactive cultural experience. Visitors can take part in DIY activities, such as crafting and painting their very own miniature Nang Yai keychains, taking home a piece of this ancient art form. The festival also features the Nang Yai Museum, open daily, where guests can delve into the history and craftsmanship of the puppetry. The museum showcases an impressive collection of puppets, stages, and other historical artefacts, providing a deeper understanding of the intricate techniques and symbolism behind Nang Yai.
