Etihad Airways will introduce new routes to Chiang Mai and Krabi, Thailand, in 2025 as part of a significant expansion that includes the launch of ten destinations in a single day. The new routes will connect Abu Dhabi with two of Thailand’s most popular travel destinations, catering to increasing demand among leisure travellers.

Daily flights to Krabi are set to commence on 4 October 2025, while four-weekly flights to Chiang Mai will begin on 4 November 2025. Both routes will be operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft, offering improved fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort.

Chiang Mai, located in northern Thailand, is famed for its ancient temples, lively markets, and lush mountainous scenery. The city’s Old Town, encircled by historic walls and moats, serves as a hub of cultural landmarks. Meanwhile, Krabi, on Thailand’s southern coast, is celebrated for its dramatic limestone cliffs, clear waters, and outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing, snorkelling, and island-hopping.

The announcement forms part of Etihad’s strategy to expand its network to over 90 destinations across 50 countries by 2025. The airline projects welcoming over 20 million passengers next year and bringing over a million international visitors to Abu Dhabi through its growing network.
