Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport has climbed ten places in the global airport rankings, reaching 58th position, up from 68th last year. The announcement was made during the World Airport Awards at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Frankfurt on 17 April 2024.
At the same event, Doha’s Hamad International Airport was named the World’s Best Airport for 2024. Celebrating its tenth year of operations, Hamad International also secured accolades for the World’s Best Airport Shopping and the Best Airport in the Middle East. Eng. Badr Al Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, credited these achievements to his team’s innovative approach and dedication to delivering an outstanding passenger experience, notably through features like the ‘ORCHARD,’ a renowned indoor tropical garden.
Meanwhile, Singapore Changi Airport, the previous year’s leader, was ranked second this year. It continued to garner recognition, winning awards for the Best Airport in Asia and the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service.
These shifts in the rankings underscore the continuous efforts by global airports to enhance the quality and breadth of services offered to travellers, reflecting their crucial role in the international travel and tourism industry.
