The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined forces with Yggdrazil Group and Ogilvy (Thailand) to launch ‘Home Sweet Home: Online.’ This online battle game, part of the Home Sweet Home series, aims to inspire travel to Thailand among Gen Z, Gen Alpha, and Native Digitals.
Embark on an immersive journey to uncover Thailand’s cultural superstitions and folklore. The game’s storytelling revolves around Thai beliefs, mysteries, and objects, leading players through an exciting exploration of the country’s rich heritage. Encounter challenges, puzzles, and confrontations with ghosts and spirits as you progress.
Discover real Thai locations within the game, including Phimai Historical Park, Khum Khun Phaen in Suphan Buri, and Hala Bala Wildlife Sanctuary in Yala. TAT’s Smart Tourism strategy aligns with this innovative project, using technology to enhance Thai tourism.
“We recognise the appeal of the horror-adventure Home Sweet Home game series among global tech savvy people, gamers, and the superstitious in its storytelling that leverages Thai mythology, beliefs and deep culture. By supporting the launch of the latest edition, we aim to inspire players to turn their in-game experience into an actual cultural and spiritual trip to Thailand,” says Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Digital Research and Development
Recent feedback from gamers highlighted their interest in national parks, Thai street food, and festivals like Songkran. This underscores Thailand’s unique appeal as a cultural destination.
TAT anticipates engagement from 500,000 players, aiming to raise awareness about Thai tourism among at least 900,000 people. Join the adventure to experience Thailand’s deep culture first-hand.
